Green València - European Green Capital 2024 - València

Our city has received the European Green Capital Award for 2024. This recognition, awarded by the European Commission, highlights the sustainable approach that Valencia has been implementing in its public policies over the last few decades. In this context, Valencia has been centring its activities around building a friendlier city for future generations and, by doing so, the city has become a beacon for green policies in the Mediterranean.  
The “Jardín del Túria” or the “Parc Central” are only two of the many examples of Valencia’s urban green spaces. In addition, the region also offers unique ecosystems such as the “Parque Natural de l’Albufera”, a natural paradise where the native flora and fauna coexist alongside farmers who cultivate local and zero-kilometre ingredients.
These are some of the reasons why Valencia has received the European Green Capital Award, being the first Mediterranean city to achieve this recognition. The green colour from the natural landscapes merges here with the blue colour of the sea, and these two colours coexist in “Cap i Casal”, creating the colour “Green Valencia”.
